Pet Laser Therapy

At Tooronga Veterinary Hospital, we’re always looking for ways to bring the latest advancements in veterinary care to our patients.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’re now offering Class IV laser therapy - a safe, non-invasive treatment designed to ease pain, speed-up healing, and enhance your pet’s overall wellbeing.

But what is pet laser therapy, and what are the benefits for you and your pet?

What Is Laser Therapy for Pets?

Laser therapy uses targeted wavelengths of light to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, making it an effective treatment option for a range of conditions, from chronic pain management to helping your pet get back on their feet after surgery.

Our Class IV therapeutic laser delivers light energy deep into tissues, where it boosts cellular activity, improves circulation and encourages the release of endorphins - the body’s natural painkillers.

How Does It Work?

This advanced veterinary treatment works through a process called photobiomodulation. When applied to an affected area, the laser light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the cells, triggering a chain reaction that:

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Improves blood flow

  • Accelerates tissue repair

  • Relieves pain

Why Choose Laser Therapy for Your Pet?

Laser therapy is a valuable treatment option for pets requiring pain relief or assistance with healing and recovery. It can be used on its own or in combination with pain relief and anti-inflammatory medications, depending on the individual needs of the patient.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Faster healing and recovery

  • Reduced swelling and inflammation

  • Better mobility and comfort

  • No downtime - your pet can return to normal activity right away

  • Drug-free, surgery-free relief (in some cases)

Conditions We Treat with Laser Therapy

Pet laser therapy can help with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions in both dogs and cats. These include:

  • Arthritis and joint pain

  • Back and spinal issues

  • Sprains, strains and soft tissue injuries

  • Post-operative healing

  • Wounds and skin conditions

  • Ear infections

Many pets find the treatment soothing and, because each treatment plan is tailored to your pet’s individual needs, results can often be seen after just a few visits.

How much does it cost?

Single session: $75
6 sessions 1-3 muscle groups: $440
6 sessions 3-5 muscle groups: $600

Please note, every pet must also have an initial consultation with one of our veterinarians (at a cost of $119).
